That move brought Hemingway to the limelight in the world of literature. In Paris he did some writing for the Toronto Star newspaper. Soon the marriage with Hadley ended, but Hemingway remarried Pauline Pfeiffer and they moved to Key West, Florida. His father committed suicide and his writing was interrupted. By then Hemingway had taken to heavy drinking. The marriage again was on the rocks and he went to Spain accompanied by his new love Martha Gellhorn. In 1940, he divorced Pauline. They jointly bought a house in Cuba and World War II broke out and Hemingway went to Europe to cover the war. Martha was already there to work. Their relationship however ended in 1945. He was in love again and he married Mary Welsh in the year 1946.They returned to Cuba and Hemingway was on his writing assignments again. The next phase in his life was full of tragedies. It discusses the importance of the subject, the type of theory or method used in the research and as well as to provide with the background and history of a particular area. Furthermore, there are 3 steps in the literature review process. Firstly is to identify the various material and access, secondly to gather the relevant information, and thirdly to write up the literature review. A good research should consist of eight important elements including purposiveness, validity, replicability, generalisability, objectivity, reliability, testability, and able to create a new thing or better known as rigor. We can gather literature review sources through books, reports, monograph, the sis, conference proceeding, working papers, and the most commonly used by many is the journal research articles. 2.2 Literature Review The Determination of Housing Price House is one of the important elements in basic human needs. People who are called the rich and famous can afford a house that is almost called a heaven and some can only lives in an ordinary but comfortable house. In my own point of view, I believe that the increment of a housing price is due to the price increment in the raw material. One who has studied using an empirical analysis has shown that income (demography trends) and nominal interest rates are the key explanatory factors in housing price. On the other hand, the equity returns may also have been an influential factor in the determination o housing price (Pages Maza, 2003). In other studies shown that, the empirical approach, panel unit root test, panel co-integration, and error correction model were applied in the research. The result is similar in which the level of income and interest rate were the main factors. But it was tested in a different method whereby the current level of income and interest rates determine how much an individual can borrow from financial institutions in order to purchase a house. This decision of how much the borrower can borrow from the bank or financial institutions is one of a way to determine the level of house price (McQuinn Oà ¢Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚ ¬Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚ ¢Rielly, 2007). For example, the higher the interest rate, the higher the price of housing. When interest rate increases, the house price will increase too. Income is one important element in determining the housing price, whereby, income may determine that a house can be afforded or not. User costs refer to the cost by a particular person. Lab Report Eugenol

Introduction Eugenol is a naturally occurring chemical that has medical applications such as its use as a natural dental anesthetic. It can be extracted from cloves by using the method of steam distillation. The extracted compound will then be separated from the water using methyl chloride, which will then be evaporated using a rotary evaporator leaving only the essential oil, Eugenol. IR spectroscopy will be used to determine the structure of the extracted compound. Results and Discussion Four samples of Eugenol were combined to be analyzed for the final product.A lower percent recovery, as indicated by Table 1 could be due to the fact that much of the weight of the cloves was not actually eugenol. This flask was then attached to a steam distillation apparatus and heated to the boiling point of about 100Â °C. The steam was condensed and collected in a graduated cylinder. This collected material consisted of water and the eugenol contained in the cloves. 100mL of the product was collected and placed into a separatory funnel. The eugenol now had to be removed from the water by adding 15mL of CH2Cl2 and shaken.The layers were allowed to separate. The CH2Cl2 layer was more dense than water and sank to the bottom of the funnel. The bottom layer was collected and another 15mL of dichloromethane was added to the funnel to repeat the process. This was repeated yet again to obtain a final amount of 45mL of dichloromethane with eugenol dissolved in it. The 45mL of product was moved to a 100mL Erlenmyer flask. The next step was to dry the mixture with 0. 5g of CaSO4 to remove any excess water in the mixture.The flask was swirled to allow for the CaSO4 to collect any water. The product was then allowed to rest and was put through a filter to remove the CaSO4. Once filtered, four different samples were collected in a single 500mL round bottom flask. This product was then placed onto a rotary evaporator to evaporate away all of the dichloromethane and le ave behind only eugenol. This was achieved because the boiling point of the dichloromethane was much lower than that of eugenol. The final product was then analyzed by IR spectroscopy.
